It aims, amongst other goals, to harmonise the classification and the hazard communication elements of chemicals (labelling and safety data sheets).
The reasons for these developments are to allow for the growth of international trade and to standardise the different classifications of identical products in different country and the re-quirement for an international safety standard.
As of May 19, 2015, all of our MSDS have been replaced by GHS compliant Safety Data Sheets.
GHS is the Globally Harmonised System for Classification and Labelling of Chemicals. Our newly formatted Safety Data Sheets are in response to this mandate and can be found at www.strem.co.uk
In harmony with this, we will also begin using a newly formatted product label which will cor-respond to the GHS information found within each Safety Data Sheet. Please note that you will begin receiving some product with these new labels in your future shipments.
It is our expectation that before December 1, 2015, all products you receive will have the new product labels as we are currently in the process of relabelling our existing stock inventory.
Please refer to the GHS compliant Safety Data Sheets going forward. If you have any questions about this subject please email us at email@example.com
